Why is Cadillac going electric now?


Cadillac, like the rest of General Motors (GM), is committed to delivering a future with zero crashes, zero emissions and zero congestion. Advancements in battery technology and availability of public infrastructure have made it easier than ever to own an electric vehicle and procure these advancements.  Cadillac brought to market the first SUV off GM’s all-new battery electric architecture and will continue to make breakthroughs in hands-free driving technologies. By the end of the decade almost all Cadillac vehicles in the portfolio will be EVs.

What is the significance of “IQ”, why LYRIQ?


The IQ naming signals that Cadillac is bringing a different type of vehicle to market, one that works in concert with people, nature and machine. The name LYRIQ was chosen as a nod to Cadillac’s rich history in music.

Over time, lithium batteries become less efficient. How do you combat this natural decay?

 

Our industry-first almost completely wireless battery management system not only helps safeguard battery health over our vehicle’s lifespan by balancing chemistry within the individual battery cell groups for optimal performance, but it also makes the batteries easier to reuse in other applications after their term of service in vehicles is over.

What is Ultium?
